Pamela K. Mach, Chairman East Canadian County
Conservation District Duane Crider NRCS E; 1625 E Highway 66

“The
East Canadian County Conservation District will host a Locally Led Conservation
Public Forum at 1625 E Highway 66, El Reno, OK
at 9:00 a.m. on September 6, 2005”, stated Pamela K. Mach, Chairperson of the
Conservation District. The locally led
conservation forum will permit local residents and stakeholders within the
county the opportunity to voice their conservation concerns. This information
along with the conservation needs assessment will become the basis for making
recommendations for conservation priorities, funding priorities, and potential
conservation priority areas that may be addressed by the various conservation
programs available within the Conservation District.
The conservation needs assessment will become the foundation upon which all local conservation efforts will be based and will be reflected in the District Annual Plan. Having involved the community in the locally led process will provide opportunities for funding from federal programs such as the Farm Bill, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and Endangered Species Act, as well as the many state and local programs that provide assistance to private land managers, stated J. Duane Crider, Natural Resources Conservation Service, District Conservationist.
The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is the
conservation agency for the USDA and works with the American people to conserve
natural resources on private and Tribal lands.
The NRCS provides natural resource assessments, conservation planning
assistance, technical assistance for conservation practices, and cost share
programs for conservation work.
Pamela K. Mach, strongly
encourages all interested parties to take an active part in sharing their
natural resource concerns at the locally led conservation forum. The forum will be open to all residents of
the county. For additional information,
you are encouraged to call Duane Crider at 262-1958 or visit the Natural
Resources Conservation Service or the East Canadian County Conservation District
Office at 1625 E Highway 66,
